A group of 8 young people (aged 23-30) who want to deepen their faith and live in communion with the Church.

A modern, comfortable place to live

In the Maison des Chapelains on the esplanade de Fourvière, 8 fully refurbished studios are ready to welcome 8 Master’s students or young professionals for a period of 10 to 12 months. The 8 studios range in size from 15 to 23 m² and come fully furnished with en-suite bathrooms.

It’s in this context that the young people choose to live in a shared apartment, with a fraternal daily routine and times for sharing.

A year to deepen your faith

Between the roommates’ prayers, the teaching and sharing sessions at the school of charity and mission, it’s the perfect opportunity to take the time to deepen your faith. During the year, many are preparing for a sacrament, accompanied and supported by their roommates and the team of supervisors.

N.D. de Fourvière is an environment dedicated to a relationship with God. Every young person will find a place of prayer steeped in history, a team of fraternal staff and volunteers, and roommates who share a similar approach to their own.

The JMF year is punctuated by the cultural and spiritual life of the Fourvière basilica.

Glorious à la fête de la musique

Young people who join the coloc’ also commit themselves to the highlights of Notre-Dame de Fourvière’s liturgical calendar. The mission of the 8th and the organization of Sunday evening mass are an integral part of coloc’ life. Roommates are also free to get involved in various aspects of the site’s spiritual and cultural life (music festival, welcoming visitors, etc.).

As a JMF, you commit from September to June to :

  • Pay rent for a furnished room with private bathroom
  • Take care of a communal space for communal living, meals and worship.
  • Choose one of Fourvière’s Missions with members of the flat-sharing group
  • Use the basilica for prayer, evangelization and sacraments
  • Devote one evening a week to a time of prayer and sharing
